MBBA 2021 FINALS RECAP

The 2021 Midwest Bucking Bull Association Regular Season and Finals Awards were handed out on September 25, 2021 in Colome, South Dakota. Over 80 bulls came from as far as Wisconsin and Illinois to compete. In addition to $14,000 in added money, the Finals event Classic, Derby, Futurity, and Yearling Champions received a custom Tres Rios buckle and Reserve Champions received a knife. Tres Rios buckles were also awarded to the top two bulls who finished the season standings in each class along with cash bonuses for the top three bulls.

Ivan Stolzfus of Stolzfus Cattle and Jimmy Twedt of JT Buckers tied for the Yearling title with their bulls 089 and JTB 038 (009 Showtime grandson) respectively, who both posted 88 scores. The yearling class paid 8 holes.

Host stock contractor Randy Shippy of Shippy Rodeo Bulls and Tim Schreiber tied for the Futurity title with their bulls S924 Caught in the Act (S113 Heir to the Throne x S46 Secret Weapon) and 947 Lil Stewie (MW 508 I’m Smooth x 101 Big Bucks) respectively, who both posted 89.33 scores. These same bulls also finished first and second in the year end standing. The futurity class paid 8 holes.

Jerry Halpain of Halpain Bucking Bulls won both the Derby and Classic titles. His three-year-old bull 839 Taratuga (Geetus x Houdini), who posted 89 points and his Classic bull 707 Chuck (14 Chaos grandson) scored 90.33. The derby class paid six holes and the classic paid four.
